About the Program

Frame by Frame is the fifth mentorship and funding program of its kind by Patakha Pictures and SOC Films where 20 filmmakers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its Newly Merged Districts (Kurram, Khyber, North Waziristan & Orakzai) will be selected for participation. This opportunity is the first time a filmmaking grant is announced specifically for the region and the first time that Patakha Pictures is opening applications for both men and women.

As part of this program, Patakha Pictures will select 10 filmmakers who are domiciled in the Newly Merged Districts (NMD) of Kurram, Khyber, North Waziristan and Orakzai, and 10 filmmakers domiciled in the rest of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Each fellow from NMDs will be paired with a fellow from other parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Together they will participate in online mentorship workshops with our local and international mentors, working towards completing a nonfiction, short documentary film by the end of the program.
